About Rebecca Lynne Sanders
Hi! My name is Rebecca, and I'm the voice behind Firebird Rose. I'm a spiritual seeker, sound healer, and mother. Never short on vision or shy of taking risks, my journey so far has been wildly transformative—a winding path of resilience and self-discovery that ultimately led me here.
In my early years, I yearned for spaces where I could be seen without judgment and stand fully in my authentic self. Over time, I immersed myself in esoteric wisdom, honing my ability to work with energy. My search for a community where I could safely exchange spiritual ideas and experiences inspired me to create Firebird Rose. This publication and online community stems from my personal commitment to hold spaces where our collective reflections, lessons, and the voices of fellow spiritual practitioners might offer guidance and support to those on a similar path.
I’m based in the Bay Area on unceded traditional Lisjan (Ohlone) land, with roots in the traditional Chumash land of Los Angeles. I'm a joyful singer, a lover of magic and ritual, and an open heart who believes deeply in the power of sharing our raw, real stories. I look forward to connecting with you and walking this journey together.
Why are we called Firebird Rose?
The name Firebird Rose carries a deep symbolism that reflects both our community’s purpose and my own journey. The firebird, or phoenix, represents rebirth—a reminder that even through profound loss, we can find the strength to rise again. In challenging moments, I often turn to A Gnostic Book of Hours: Keys to Inner Wisdom by June Singer. One passage from The Gospel of Philip speaks of a “living resurrection,” and Singer writes, “Unless we live in awareness of the cycle of death and rebirth throughout our lives, we relinquish our chance for resurrection because ‘resurrection’ occurs now, in this world, rather than hereafter, in that world.” This concept of a “living resurrection” inspires me to see the hardships we inevitably encounter in this difficult world as a call to rebuild our lives, here and now, with intention and awareness. As Singer puts it,
"A Messenger breaks into our daily routine to startle us with a challenge: we are to create in this world the likeness of what we envisage the other world to be!”
The rose is an ancient symbol of divine feminine wisdom that holds within it the shape of a spiral, reflecting the soul’s journey. Together, Firebird Rose becomes a symbol of resilience, wisdom, and the continual, spiraling path we walk toward truth and transformation.
Whether you seek guidance, healing, or simply a place to feel seen, Firebird Rose is here as a companion on your path.
